Let´s Spend The Night Together

Let´s Spend The Night Together
(aka. Rocks Off, Time Is On Our Side)
Directed by: Hal Ashby
Running Time: 95 min   Color   Date: 1981

Let's Spend the Night Together was the live concert film, documenting The Rolling Stones' 1981 North American Tour that somehow made the Rolling Stones the biggest stadium band from 1981 onwards, but in terms of performance, it's quite
boring, and the film itself, is a straightforward retelling of two separate US tour concerts edited together.
Premiered in cinemas around the world in 1982 and 1983

Let's Spend the Night Together is the Stones after they reached legendary status, with their venues and production values bigger and slicker but the quality is stale and forced, making it almost a parody of themselves. Ashby results are as exciting and eye-catching as must have been intended. Filmed at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, November, 5/6, 1981 and at the Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona, December, 13, 1981. It was released in some countries as Holland, Italy, New Zealand and Australia with the alternative title Time Is On Our Side (with backstage footage cut in). The film was released as Rocks Off in Germany in 1982 with slightly different footage and the additional song "When the Whip Comes Down" (following "Under My Thumb") from Sun Devil Stadium.

Sweet Home Chicago

Sweet Home Chicago
Directed by: Alan & Susan Raymond   Produced by: Nina Rosenstein
Running Time: 60 min   Color   Date: 1981

Film about Chicago blues music broadcasted in some TV stations and released also as VHS tape in November 1993. Including historic footage and interviews with many blues performers, this film captures the sound of the great urban blues artists and tells the story of Chess Records, the premier home of Chicago blues. Besides an interview with Jagger and some 60´s footage
of the Stones, we get a glimpse of the band with Muddy Waters at the Checkerboard Lounge in November 1981.
A restored film/audio edition from the complete show was officially released in July 2012 as "Live Chicago 1981"

When Muddy Waters took the stage at the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago on
November 22, 1981 to play a session with members of the Rolling Stones and fellow bluesmen Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Lefty Dizz, no one expected it to become one of his last live concert appearances. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and "fifth Stone" Ian Stewart, staying in Chicago for three concerts on November 23, 24, and 25, joined Muddy Waters in a few blues numbers for posterity. Also in circulation on unauthorized DVD releases, the complete/partial show with the same name "Sweet Home Chicago" or "Father & Sons".

Green Ice

Green Ice
Directed by: Ernest Day
Running Time: 116 min   Color   Date: 1981

The story has American electronics expert O'Neal visiting Latin America and being recruited into a scheme to steal emeralds from a Colombian consortium. It has an attractive trio of leadings actors in Ryan O'Neal, Anne Archer and Omar Sharif, but their performances are not impressive, at all. In true caper movie style, we get to see the plot as it is hatched and the subsequent robbery as it is put into motion. Bill Wyman composed and played the soundtrack for the movie

Originally released in 1981, the soundtrack album was re-released in October 2002
