Hi, can you tell me the matrix number for this 45? Is there two versions of this 45? one with the sleeve in "normal" paper and other with "plastified" paper? thanks a lot
Hi This is an original pressing, you can verify the releases and re-releases dates on the bottom of the rear covers (this one nºs 10-66) of most of the 60´s/early 70´s French editions (not on the French Juke-box releases). All my French Eps and singles until the release of 2000 Light Years/She´s A Rainbow (1-68) have "laminated sleeves" (plastified), so I must presume all printed without laminated sleeves should be from 1968 afterwards. There are many re-releases from the early French Eps and singles so you must carefully check all details. Matrix Nº XDR 38957 B3 XDR 38958 B3
Thanks for your info. Now, I will add some more question to this single... I Have this single with the laminated sleeve and 10-66 number at the rear. BUT the matix number is XDR 38957 D1 XDR 38957 B3. (!!!) At the top of this, I saw a copy of this single in "normal paper" (sadly I didn't take note of the date at the rear because I didn't know what it means until now) with the matix number XDR 38957 B2 XDR 38957 B2 As I can't add pictures here, look this link http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/have-you-seen-your-mother-baby-french-pressing-1966.360421/ Maybe someone can help me with this weird single....
Hi again! that´s cool…I suppose this happen with more regional editions also, but in fact I´m so used to check the UK and US matrix nºs but never though to verify the French or others releases. I ain`t no guru on these matters, could it be different pressing plants and (later) masters scattered over the Francophone countries?? (don´t forget also the "export" (or not) editions to the Belgium and French colonies in Africa, to Belgium itself or Swiss, etc, in the 60´s). I wish I could be more helpful, but I´m glad you had brought this subject to discussion. If so, inform me about developments on this matter. Thank You Kindly Half-Nanker
My pleasure pal! As you can see, you won't find no too much info about french matrix on the net, so I started to send messages asking matrix numbers to sellers of this 45s (of course, french version and supposedly 1966 pressing) on Ebay. Results?
XDR 38957 B2 XDR 38958 B2 (apparently this one is the only one with paper sleeve, awful print, very pale) XDR 38957 D1 XDR 38958 B2 (laminated sleeve) XDR 38957 D1 XDR 38958 B3 (laminated sleeve) and your version XDR 38957 B3 XDR 38958 B3 (laminated sleeve) differentces between versions with different matrix? I have no idea. Different mixes maybe? I have no idea since my record player is mono. Differences between labels? NO. All of them are the same. And the mistery continues.... Cheers Sebastian
Thx Sebastian I don´t you if you had already tried Stones forums on net like StonesVikings or IORR, maybe they had already discuss the matter. It´s great to know about this, really! Best Jorge
