TIME-Life´s rock-documentary The History of Rock and Roll, first broadcasted on television, in series, which was first presented in 1995, consumes some 578 minutes, with 10 episodes. Executive producers include Quincy Jones, while respected writers Peter Guralnick and Greil Marcus are listed as consultants. Beginning in the pre-rock days of Muddy Waters and Louis Jordan and continuing through the death of Kurt Cobain and the birth of the Lollapalooza festival in the mid-1990s

A five-day live-music broadcast from Seville, Spain (promoting Expo ´92, Seville) featuring 25 of the world's top guitarists, with guests Jack Bruce, Phil Manzanera, Bob Dylan, Brian May, Ray Cooper, Joe Satriani, Paul Rodgers, Steve Cropper, Joe Cocker and Keith Richards among many others. The five concerts are themed and each headline five of the guitarists playing a set. All shows finish with a super jam of all artists of the evening. Broadcasters in 40 countries were targeted to sign up for the festival broadcasts, but a few did broadcast the more than six hour complete shows. Keith Richards set includes Shake, Rattle And Roll, Going Down, Something Else, Connection, I Can’t Turn You Loose

Another live concert film by The Rolling Stones released in 1991. It was specially filmed in IMAX (the IMAX process, which allows the film to be projected in a size ten times the size of a regular 35mm projected image) during the Urban Jungle tour in Europe in 1990. At the Max premiered on October 25, 1991 in Los Angeles at the California Museum Of Science And Industry, and later on only about 120 IMAX-equipped theaters worldwide. The film was later released on VHS/Laser-disc and recently on DVD and Blu-ray, released under the title Rolling Stones Live at the Max
