星のオルフェウス (aka. Winds of Change; Orpheus of the Stars; Metamorphoses) Directed by: Takashi Yanase Starring Peter Ustinov as narrator on US version Running Time: 90/ 80 min Color Date: 1977 |
Metamorphoses tried to be the rock era's answer to Disney´s Fantasia, telling the story of Orpheus, whose bad luck with women was balanced by his talent playing the lute. Again, the scantily clad or unclad fairies, cupids, and goddesses may have kept this out of reach of American market. A year later, it was reissued under a new title, Winds of Change, a collaborative effort between Japan and America, with seven minutes trimmed away from the first cut of 89 minutes. This time, the music was composed by Alec R. Costandinos, a narration provided by Peter Ustinov was added, and features (no Stones involvement, other than) the unreleased Rolling Stones song "Criss Cross" (edited version) |
